DOMINO ART
Stamping on dominos is great fun and the result is so impressive. With such a tiny canvas you'd think there's not much you can do. But think again! The key to getting the image on the domino is to first ink up your stamp, then lay it on your table face up so you can press the domino right onto the part of the image you desire. Here are some domino projects to try.

By Mish Kopack
For this project, Mish used travel-size dominos, drilling holes horizontally with a Dremel drill. She marbled a light background with Fresco inks and then stamped Shakespeare and his heroines with Memories black ink. She over-stamped the sides with Brilliance copper using a marble-veined rubber stamp. She heat-set each layer and added a coat of Krylon matte spray on all the surfaces. Finally, she strung the dominos on soft-flext beading wire with 4 mm. firepolish black glass beads and a toggle clasp.

By Diane Weber
Here, Diane bleached the dominos, then sanded and stamped Ophelia on them in black Staz-On ink. She heat-set and then colored with Prismacolor markers, heat-set again and used a cotton ball to daub on the background color. She used Krylonleafing pens around the edges, heat-set one last time and, after they cooled, she sprayed Clearcote sealer on them, setting
the dominos on tin foil or wax paper. "Let dry and then string with beads of your choice," Diane says. "Enjoy!"
By Judy Cantrell
Judy covered a sample Formica tile with a thin piece of gold Sculpey III, stamped it with an image from Cartolina Postale, baked and applied different colors of Rub 'n Buff. She stamped the domino with a Flapper image, heat-set to dry,
watercolored and then sealed with spray. She used gold Rub 'n Buff around the edges and added fibers.

Deanna Mears
Deanna first sanded her dominos and applied Fresco ink as a background. After drying with her heat tool, she stamped
the main images with a Memories black inkpad and heat-set again. Later she embellished with beads and
gold leafing pen. You'll see a few Scrabble tiles there as well.

Monica Barney
Monica stamped dominos using images from the Italian Tarot and Petite Playing Cards sheets. She used colored Sharpie
markers to color in the images and then outlined with a gold Krylon pen.
